"I know that discrimination is wrong," said the Reverend Gregory
Christopher, pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church and a member of both
ministerial groups. "But I believe that the Bible teaches we have a
choice whether we're going to be heterosexual or homosexual."
So, he acknowledges that descrimination is wrong, which is the way it
should be in a country that believes in life, liberty and the persuit of
happiness, but you want to make an exception for one certain group that
you don't like.
Sorry that's not the way it works. You either believe
descrimination is wrong, or you don't. You don't get to pick and choose
who you like and don't like. If you think descrimination is perfectly
alright for one group than you have to also accept the fact that someone
else is justified to discriminate against you.
We don't get to choose. I don't like people being able to say that it's OK
to hate gay people, or as in the Texas Republican state platform, that it
should be OK to go beat gays and not be prosecuted, but I have to respect
the fact they have the freedom to do so.
